If it’s been a while since you’ve seen your best girlfriends, we recommend trying to clear your schedule and embark on an all-day excursion. Whether your girls group consists of the single and unfettered types, overworked career women, overworked wives, and mothers, or some combination of everything, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Mystic. We’ve put together a list of suggestions to help make whatever day you choose to gather the Perfect Girls Day.

Start your day right with a mani/pedi from Bliss Nails – they offer everything from your basic manicure to the latest in gel and dip powder options, and pedicures that will fit into any schedule, from classic to lavish, organic and herbal.

Once you’re feeling ready from tip to toe, it’s time to shop! Mystic has two amazing options for shopping while strolling, without ever having to set foot inside a mall.

Olde Mistick Village offers an unparalleled shopping experience in an open-air environment with hand-crafted gifts, high fashion jewelry and accessories, international treasures, and Mystic-made souvenirs from a wide variety of small businesses.

Alternatively, head downtown and take a walk down Main Street to pop into the dozens of shops there, ranging from unique home decor items like Polish pottery, blown glass, and pewter crafts, as well as fine soaps, books, candy, and so much more!

Whichever location you choose, there’s cafes nearby to help sustain you if you hit a wall in the middle of the day from simply having too much fun. We recommend Deviant Donuts if you’re in the Village, or Mystic Depot Roasters or Sift if you’re Downtown!

Shopping is a great shared experience, but if you’re looking to try something else out together, Mystic has you covered in a variety of ways. In Downtown you’ll find the Mystic Museum of Art, open year-round, as well as paddleboard and kayak rentals in the warmer seasons and lantern-lit haunted history tours during the colder (and spookier!) months. Meanwhile, Olde Mistick Village can offer you a cinematic experience at Mystic Luxury Cinemas or an aquatic and educational one at the world-famous Mystic Aquarium.

End your day by indulging a bit with dinner. If you’re feeling upscale and craving high-quality seafood, The Oyster Club is the place for you. Featuring a raw bar as well as a variety of outstanding entrees, the Oyster Club also offers a Dinner Party Experience, in which the kitchen team curates a specialty four-course menu for your group out of seasonal ingredients. If seafood and a bit of formality isn’t your thing, then we suggest Mystic Pizza – yes, that Mystic Pizza, of cult-classic film status, featuring a young Julia Roberts and the debut of Matt Damon. Beyond the magic of Hollywood, however, stands a wonderful restaurant that’s withstood the test of time with its hearty, traditional, and delicious menu offerings. Choose between a Build Your Own experience, speciality pizzas such as Mediterranian Delight, or a selection of calzones, grinders, and entrees.

Bonus Round

Satrudays may be for the boys but Sundays are for the girls! Whether you decide to do a Saturday night sleepover with your gal pals or go your separate ways and reconvene in the morning, be sure to stop by Engine Room, a gastropub with an industrial aesthetic, for a “proper boozy brunch.” It’s the best way to chase off the Sunday Scaries! The drink menu includes beermosas (including one known as the Bacon Chocolate), Build-Your-Own Bloody Marys, and spiked coffee. Food highlights include a Dutch Baby cinnamon-and-bourbon apple pancake, BBQ Brisket Eggs Benedict, smoked Tofu Salad (if you’re trying to be good) and a Hangover Burger (if you’re trying to recover from being bad).
