Restaurant Week Day 4: Mango’s Pizza

For Day 4 we decided to stay in Mistick Village and head on over to Mango’s. It is hard to turn down an opportunity to try pizza on restaurant week. Mango’s has pretty much the same menu for lunch and dinner but the size of the pizza is different.

$25 Dinner Menu

Wood Fired Wings (4)
House Salad
Cindy’s Salad

Course 2: Pizza
Margherita
Spaghetti & Meatball
Potato/ Bacon/ Brussels Sprouts

Shaun’s Chicken Pesto

Course 3:
Choice of Red or White wine
or
Craft Beer

For course 1 we chose the single meatball and the wings. I was very intrigued with the idea of wood fired wings. I had never had anything like it. They had great flavor and the buffalo sauce was the right amount of spicy. I liked that they weren’t breaded and that you could taste the flavor throughout the wings. The meatball was very delicious. The meatball looks small but it packed a lot of flavor. You are almost glad they only give you one or you’d indulge in several. This was a perfect first course, it had the right about of flavor, and was the perfect portion.

For course 2 we got the Margherita pizza and Spaghetti & Meatball. We felt like getting an original flavor pizza and a more whimsical flavor would be a smart idea. Now you might think who puts spaghetti and meatballs on a pizza?! Well everyone should! It was a delicious pairing and it’s crazy to think that more people don’t do it. You get the crispy crust, with a lot of sauce and cheese, with spaghetti and noodles laid on top with a good amount of meatballs. The Margherita was just a great classic. It’s obviously a simpler pizza with few toppings but it’s a great staple that shows how great simple flavors can be. I had to stop myself from eating too much
I really enjoyed these pizzas. I love a more crispier crust that still has some fluff and this was exactly that. Im excited to come back and try some other great flavors.
Now they don’t really have a course 3. They offer beer or wine but of the options provided they weren’t something we drink. But what is nice is Mango’s lets you substitute the option of beer or wine for a soda or tea. So if you aren’t a big drinker or are not a fan of the choices don’t worry Mango’s makes it work for you!
